As much as I have stalked this site, I promised I would post when I had good new! I'm 35, have PCOS/irregular periods/don't ovulate on my own, no other issues besides being overweight 5’6” 197 pounds. Have 2 kids already (ages 12yrs and 14yrs) Tubes are clear, uterine lining is good. Clomid and natural BD'ing did not work for me. Last month, Hubby’s count was good but motility was a little low, so hubby took GNC Men’s Fertility Blend all last month. Dr. also had me on birth control for 3 months to make sure old lining was being shed.

CD 1 Started period.
CD 3 ultrasound/had several premature follies. 1st Menopur Injection and 2x day follicle stimulating pills, also started Metformin
CD 5 2nd Menopur Injection
CD 7 Final Menopur Injection and final day of follicle stimulating pills
CD 11 Ultrasound. 2 mature follicles, one in each ovary at 23mm each. Uterine lining at 10.5 mm thick. Trigger shot 5:30pm! (Novarel 10,000 i.u.)
CD 12 IUI – Hubby’s count was 60 million and motility was good. Later at night around 11pm felt a sharp pinch and cramping on side of right ovary (right side ovulation?) Super bad mood. EWCM in afternoon. Smiley face on OPK!
CD 13 Not as severe pinches and cramping on left side in early morning (left side ovulation?) Counting this as Ovulation Day since pains started last night into this morning. Headache. BD’d late at night with Preseed. EWCM all day
1DPO No more EWCM. Stick CM now
2DPO Ridiculously good mood.
3DPO Grossed out when coworker burped. Super constipated (NEVER happens)
4DPO Gassy, bloated, not AS constipated. Starting feeling stabbing pains and cramping on RIGHT side at night (implantation?)
5DPO Still constipated. Starting feeling stabbing pains and cramping on LEFT side in morning (implantation?) Creamy cm
6DPO Sticky cm, nasal stuffiness, I think I started feeling sensations in my breasts
7DPO Super bad mood again. Watery cm
8DPO BFN FRER
9DPO BFN internet cheapie
10DPO BFN FRER and internet cheapie. Sore nipples late at night, Creamy cm
11DPO BFN internet cheapie. Did not use FRER. Headache. Super emotional. Sore nipples continue
12DPO BFP!! Had BFN in the morning with internet cheapie. Went to work and was meaner than usual. Breasts finally sore too. Tested with FRER after work and faint BFP!!!! Mad because hubby does not think BFP counts if one line is lighter! UGH! Now the question is.... did Both eggs get fertilized?!

Finally after almost a year and a half and three iuis!

I had to share my story because I have stalked this site my whole time while ttc. I am 35 and my hubby is 33. We have a beautiful 3 year old boy that we conceived at the first try naturally. This is why a diagnosis of secondary unexplained infertility hit hard. Why all of a sudden we are having issues? I temped and used a bajillion ovulation tests. Our tests all came out normal : hsg, sperm analysis etc. The specialist wanted to try three iuis before moving to IVF. The first two iuis I took 50mg of clomid and trigger shot and the timing was perfect on both. The second time I only had one mature follicle. The third time is a charm! At my request, for the last iui we increased clomid to 100mg and I had three mature follicles.
Symptoms:
Days 1-2 piui: cramping from iui
Days 3-4 piui: nothing
Days 5-6 piui: sharp pains a few times on lower right. Extremely sore nipples. Can't even hug hubby.
Days 7-9 piui: Nipples not as bad but breasts hurt a little. bloating and tired my son and mother are sick so not sure if I was getting sick
Days 10-11 piui: convinced af is coming. Bloated only slightly increased cm. wearing a pad just waiting to see blood. My breasts do not even hurt anymore. Drank 3 glasses of wine two nights in a row.
Day 12 piui: period should be here by now. Still convinced it will come but just for fun figured I would test. First with a cheapie and almost missed the light line.then I confirmed with a digital. Holy hell!!! It worked!!! I'm so excited and nervous, just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. Going for a bld test Monday.
Good luck to everyone and do not give up hope!!! Xo

BFP after IUI, first try worked!

Hi all! I'm writing this partly because I stalked these forums for almost two years while TTC, and partly to help myself believe that this is really happening! I'm 4W5D today, and so far everything is progressing normally. Here's my story:

My husband and I started TTC in February 2013. At that time I was 32 and he was 35. I'd had an IUD (Mirena) for 8 years, and even though I didn't have periods at all during that time my period came back really quickly after it was removed. My periods were (and remained) incredibly light, BUT they were super regular. Per the internet, the regularity was the important factor, so we kept trying. I tracked my temps and other fertility signs and also used OPKs during that time, and my husband and I were doing a good job with timing. But after 6 months of BFNs I made an appointment with my OB. She did a blood workup but nothing came up. My husband's tests also came back normal (count on the lower end of normal but good motility). After 6 MORE months of trying we were finally eligible to see an RE (we had health insurance in NC at the time, so we had to wait for an "official" diagnosis of infertility before any diagnostic work would be covered).

The RE did more bloodwork and noticed that my TSH levels were slightly elevated, so she put me on synthroid. I also had an HSG done to be sure my tubes were open, etc., and that went great. Within two months my thyroid hormone levels were normal, and since that was the only possible explanation for our infertility we figured we'd try for a couple more months to get pregnant naturally. But nope, no BFPs, periods kept coming every 28 days. My RE wanted to try IUI, but unfortunately we were moving from NC to NY and had to put our fertility treatments on hold.

Finally, after finding a doctor in New York and getting the timing right, we did our first round of clomid-assisted IUI last month. I did 5 days of clomid, and when I went in for my ultrasound on October 12th there were four mature follicles! My RE's office administered the trigger shot and we came back 24 hours later (October 13th) for the procedure. My husband's numbers were lower than average this time (~10mil), although motility was good. Still, because the count was low my doctor warned me that it might not take, and reminded me that "it's a process". We were pretty disappointed, but life goes on.

Well, 6 days after the IUI (October 19th) I started to feel my first symptoms. That night, as I lay in bed trying to fall asleep, I had some mild cramps. Like menstrual cramps, but I never have cramps normally (in addition to my periods being super light I have almost no symptoms). The next day (TMI warning!) I was SUPER gassy and constipated. My sisters all experienced gas in very early pregnancy, so I started to get excited. I also continued to cramp all day, and at one point mid-afternoon it felt pretty intense. Like I had to stop what I was doing and breathe through it, a noticeably sharp pain that was definitely not intestinal. I'm pretty sure this is when the fertilized egg implanted. For the next several days I continued to experience constipation and a mild skin breakout (also very unusual for me), but the cramping subsided. On October 23rd my boobs started to feel pretty sensitive (they have continued to be since that point). So at this point I was pretty sure I was pregnant and freaking out with excitement. I took my first HPT 10 days past IUI and... BFP. I took another one 11 dpiui, again negative. I was crushed. I broke down crying that night, sure I'd either had an early miscarriage or was never pregnant to begin with. The next evening (October 25th), I took one more test just to be sure. BFP!!!!! It was a faint second line, but it was there!!! We were both completely ecstatic and in shock. In 21 months of trying, this was my very first BFP. It's still hard for me to believe!

So far my HCG levels are doubling every 48hrs as expected, and progesterone has been good too. I go in for my first ultrasound on Friday. Please cross your fingers for me! Even if this embryo doesn't survive, I'm so happy to know that it's possible for me to get pregnant using IUI. For those of you TTC with unexplained infertility, I know it can be so crazy making. Don't give up hope!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Negative Yesterday, positive today 10/11 dpo!

Hi all, I'm a longtime 2 ww reader, I can't believe it's finally my turn to write my bfp story! We've been trying for 2 years... I can't believe it's positive!

This month we did 2.5 mg Letrozole IUI w/Ovidrel trigger. IUI Sunday/Monday 11/8 and 11/9. I thought I would ovulate that monday or tuesday but on Wednesday morning I woke up with really bad pains in my lower abdomen. It felt kind of like when your bladder is way too full. I think that's the day I actually ovulated.

I took a few pregnancy tests this week to make sure the Ovidrel trigger was out of my system, and they came back negative. Yesterday (Friday) I took a cheapie wondfo with FMU and it was absolutely negative. I was feeling really bummed out and a bit bitchy yesterday (probably because I thought I was out yet again). I'm a Fertility Nurse and my coworkers knew I was ttc. I voiced how frustrated I was by not having any control over what happens to my body. I was so sick of seeing negatives, I didn't think it would ever happen!

I ran out of cheapie pregnancy tests, so this morning (realizing that it would probably be negative), I took an LH test. It came back positive, so out of curiosity I decided to use my golden pregnancy test, the FRER. Within seconds, this is the line that I saw! I called my office and they squeezed me in for a beta. I find out the beta number within a few hours! Fingers crossed!

My symptoms:
Absolutely none. Breasts tiny bit tender (wayless than my previous cycles with negative results). Little twinges past couple days (probably implantation). Vivid dream last night, (but I had vivid dreams with negative cycles as well). Basal Body Temperature 98.9 for past few days. Good luck all!

BFP - 2nd IUI - Vasectomy Reversal

Hi Everyone! I am so excited to FINALLY be able to share my BFP story! My husband and I have been TTC for about 2 years now. DH had a vasectomy reversal right after we got married, July 2013. The surgery was a success and 6 months after his surgery we began actively trying. After about a year we decided to seek medical help. In April 2015, we started Clomid. After 2 months with my regular OB I was frustrated and decided to see a specialist in June, 2015. We were set to do IUI in July but I had 9 follicles and they canceled the IUI. August was out because of residual cysts. We had our first IUI in September. DH's sperm count was extremely low, 2 million, (he was taking antibiotics and we were told it shouldn't matter...IT DOES) and I only had two follicles. That IUI resulted in a BFN. Our second IUI was October 19th. I had 5 follicles and his sperm count was better 38 million!

TWW SYMPTOMS
I tried my hardest not to symptom spot as I normally do. I did not take my temperature daily, I tried not to think about anything! Around 5 DPIUI I felt some light cramping that lasted a couple of hours. 7DPIUI I was eating lunch and had very strong cramping that I had to move around to try to get relief, that never came. Those cramps lasted for about 30 minutes. It was very strong. I felt wetness but never really the familiar feel of AF getting ready to come. My Cervical Mucus was very prominent, very white and thick. That was unusual for me. I also took my temperature a few days in the second part of TWW and noticed it was very high. I started temping daily at 12DPIUI when my temp usually starts dropping if AF comes and it still remained high. I took a test on Sunday (13dpiui) and it was negative. I didn't want to test because I hate POAS and seeing BFN, but DH was going out of town and he wanted to be there. I was discouraged but did not cry as much as I usually do, I had faith because my temps were still high.

I did not test the next day exactly two weeks after the procedure, I just figured I would wait for AF. Nothing came! The next morning I said oh forget it, let's get it over with. I looked at the control line and saw it popped up and started crying with joy, then I quickly laughed at myself when I realized I was only looking at the control line. I brushed my teeth and looked again and there was the most precious sight ever a +! Then I cried for real. I was alone and had to call my hubby! It was amazing. I left to go to school and picked up another test on the way and took it in the bathroom in my First Grade classroom. Two pink line immediately showed up. :)

I went to the clinic the next day for my Beta it was 147 and two days later it was 496. Yesterday I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks and saw my little baby and heard the heartbeat. I have not felt a single thing yet. Just a bit tired sometimes and my breasts are very sore and getting bigger daily it seems. I am so happy. I am so relieved. I am so thankful.

Never give up. God is able to do anything. TTC is a long road, it is hard, it is tough, it is sad, it is lonely but it builds character and strength. When it finally happens it makes it all worth while! I am still praying for a healthy pregnancy throughout but now and forever all the praise and glory is to God for answering my prayer!

Good luck and God Bless!

Trying to conceive for almost 16 months. I am 9dpiui after my first ever IUI. I had not had a wiff of a BFP all this time (in fact, stopped testing for 6 months because it was causing me extreme depression). For this first time I've had ZERO symptoms. No sore boobs, no tingling nipples, NOTHING. Last night I had some electric/pulling sensations in my lower belly that went on for about an hour. This morning I broke down and POAS. I see something, but need your guys expert opinion! THANK YOU BEAUTIFUL LADIES!!!

BFP Baby#2 and IUI #2

I always said that as soon as I got my BFP, I would post here. Just in case there is even one person out there that could benefit from my story, as i have benefited from all of yours so much. So, here it goes- we have been ttc baby #2 for a year now. It took us 2 years and 2 miscarriages to have DD, but we were able to get pregnant with her with no fertility treatments. Anyway, fast forward to now and she is 18 months and perfect. We knew that we wanted more children and decided to start trying when she was 6 months old due to our age(I'm 32 and DD is 35) and the troubles that we had the first go around. It took us 6 months to get pregnant and I finally got a BFP back in July, only to find that the pregnancy tests kept getting lighter until finally AF arrived. We were devastated to say the least, and immediately got the ball rolling on fertility testing and next steps. Being proactive was the only thing that kept us sane. There were a few things that came back from our testing, the biggest was that I have an overactive thyroid which my RE says could have been causing the miscarriages...he says that my thyroid could have seen the baby implanting as a foreign object to my body and rejecting it. He prescribed me a low dose steroid in case this was the issue. I should also mention that DH has no issues...his count and motility have always been great.

After trying for another couple of months naturally, we decided our next step was clomid and IUI. We decided that we would give it 3 months then move on to IVF as a last resort. Our first IUI, we both had so much hope. We truly thought it was going to work. Partly because it was the first time, and partly because our numbers were so great...I had 2 mature follicles, and 2 medium sized ones. Hubby's count post wash was 94 million with 86% motility! We really thought we nailed it, only to get a BFN in November.

Now for IUI #2- everything was a mess. I thought that I had ovulated prior to the trigger shot, as I got a very strong positive on an OPK. My follicle check only showed one at 17 and another at 13. My lining was at 5.6 from the clomid and I read that it was next to impossible to have successful implantation with anything under 7-8. My RE assured me that we still had 2 days for the follicles and lining to increase. We nearly cancelled the IUI because I thought that I already ovulated, and I wasn't convinced that my numbers were strong enough. We figured, what the heck..we're already so far along in the process. Let's just do it, so we did. Hubby's counts were strong again, 76 million and 86% motility.

Even though my RE told me not to test early, I did of course :) I started testing at 9dpiui and saw a very faint line. I thought it could be the trigger so I tried not to get excited. Then I tested the next day and the next, the lines kept getting darker. The Clearblue digital also came back at "pregnant 1-2". We confirmed with a blood test at 13dpiui and here are my betas-

Beta 13dpiui- 118, progesterone at 16
Beta 16dpiui- 800, progesterone at 11.6(RE immediately put me on supplements twice a day)
Beta 20dpiui- 2799, progesterone at 20.6

It's still so early, that I won't feel completely comfortable until I hear a heartbeat. We're scheduled for our first ultrasound Thursday. I'll just be trying to calm my nerves until then!

I do want to mention a few things that I did differently this cycle- drank pomegranate juice as soon as I heard that my lining dipped(not sure if it helped, but I thought-why not?), prenatal and baby aspirin every day. Hubby and I bd'd on CD8, 10, 14(day after IUI), and 15. I truly believe that I ovulated early and bd'ing on CD8 or 10 is what did it for us. We never do it that early(usually start on day 11 or 2 to give it the best swimmers..lol). I took the advice on my RE and did it on those days and I believe that is why I got my BFP.

Lastly, symptoms before my BFP were slim but I did get a sore throat and stuffy nose somewhere around 5-7dpiui. I also remember wiping and seeing a twinge on brown 6dpiui. Must have been implantation bleeding. Also, frequent urination- I notice it mostly at night. Previously, I would get up once during the night but lately it's been 3 times or more. Other than that, not much to report.

Ladies, I know that it seems hopeless sometimes, but persistence is what got us here. I love being a mom so much and I would have continued trying for years if I knew I would eventually be staring at 2 pink lines. Don't lose hope, and just know that you aren't alone. Fingers crossed that you all get your BFP's soon :)

2nd try and got a BFP!!

I feel very blessed to be able to share our BFP story.

For a few month prior to my first IUI (and still continuing) I was taking prenatal pills, baby aspirin, folic acid and Vitamin D. Then my RE put me on letrozole CD days 3-7. I took one 50IU shot of follistem on CD 7. On CD 12 I had the ultrasound, which showed one 24mm, 17mm, and 15mm follicle. Immediately after the ultrasound I got a 10,000IU HCG trigger shot then 30hrs later had my first IUI. 10dpiui I tested and got a BFN and everyday after all tests continued to be BFNs. Although I was disappointed, I was very much ready for round two. I felt like I was better equipped because I had been reading and researching so much during the 2ww.

My second IUI was almost the same except on CD 7 and 9 I took 75IU shot of follistem and had my ultrasound on CD 11. The ultrasound showed two 20mm follicles, and one 17mm follicle. My doctor did the HCG trigger right afterward but knocked it down to 5000IU instead of 10,000 in hopes that I would only release the two bigger eggs. 30 hours later I had the IUI done. So the main difference between the first IUI and the second was the follistem and doing the trigger and IUI one day sooner. At the time I had the IUI, I felt this tugging in my ovaries (like I was about to ovulate very soon).

From 1dpiui to 5dpiui I experienced a lot of lower back pain mainly on my right side. I would also feel that pain go down my right leg. No sore boobies

6dpiui the lower back pain wasn't as bad, but I did feel slight twinges in my lower abdomen and when I urinated I saw the tiniest little speck of blood on the toilet paper. No sore boobies

7-9dpiui I tested to ensure the trigger was out of my system. Slight back pain still and no sore boobies. Confirmed trigger shot was gone and test strips were all BFNs.

10dpiui I tested and got a BFP. I was happy but a little skeptical and didn't want to let my self get excited. Back pain and mild cramping began. No sore boobies

11dpiui I tested again and got a BFP and I tested again after that and got another BFP. I continued to have mild cramping and lower back pain. No sore boobies.

13dpiui I had the blood test done and confirmed my pregnancy. My HCG levels are a little high which may indicate more than one...yikes.

To everyone who is TTC, I hope and pray your BFP arrives soon. We had previously tried several times on our own with no success and feel very blessed to have found an amazing RE who has been an integral part of making this new journey possible.

2nd Try... Natural IUI

I am so happy and wanted to share my story with others in hopes that it will help boost your confidence and help you stay positive!

After 9 months of ttc with no luck, we decided to go to the fertility doctor and take some tests... we learned that my husband has a low sperm count and low motility. I have a low egg reserve. The doctor recommended a natural IUI (3 times before moving to the next option).

1st IUI... post wash my husband had 26 mil sperm. I had every symptom in the book.. loads of cm, weird twitches and cramps, tired, nauseous, everything! But got AF on the day she was due.

2nd IUI... worked for us... and my husband only had 2 mil sperm post wash. They weren't happy with that number at all. Here's what worked for me...

I layed there for 15 mins after the IUI with my knees bent... then went home immediately after and kept my feet up for a few hours. I did the pineapple core thing (1 piece a day for 5 days)... took it pretty easy (but I have a 2 year old daughter so it's sometimes hard to). Then during the 2ww, I did a lot of things that would keep me relaxed and my mind off of it all (played games with my hubby, shopped, drank wine when I wanted to, etc). I stayed busy! Before I knew it.. the 2ww was almost over.

I didn't track my symptoms day by day... but I hardly had any...

7 and 8dpiui - gassy, bloated
9dpiui - super gassy and weird cramping right below my ribs, bowel movements more often (2-3 a day)
10dpiui - same as above
11dpiui - super bad cramps to where I thought AF was coming... but could've been gas too
12dpiui - No cm (not normal for me.. I normally have a ton the week before AF), super gassy, bloated, waking up in the middle of the night wide awake, peeing 2 to 3 times in the night, woke up shaky and feeling like I had coffee but I didn't, can't stop eating, need a nap in the middle of the day, cramps off and on, BFP

I hope this helps somebody! Don't give up and stay positive! It's not a bad thing to get double checked and tested either... baby dust!

BFP after vas reversal and iui

SO here it is! My bfp story! WHat! I'm going to be honest and say that I didn't see this happening. I was at my breaking point. I was sick of the meltdowns every month and sick of people looking at me like they are sad for me. I will never forget how hard infertility is. my husband had his reversal feb of 2014. We conceived oct of 2015! It took time to be able to have the money for the surgery. Of course, insurance wont cover anything to do with conceiving but will pay 100% on birth control! Ugh! Ok here is how this cycle went...

C3-C7 I took femera and my prenatal vitamin before bed.
p.s Femera was great for me! Clomid was bad! I did 5 months of Clomid (3- 50mg and 2-100mg) I lost my mind. It works for people and my body did what it was suppose to but I was losing my mind.
Cd 12- Ultrasound of follicles one was 18mm and one was 26mm! I triggered shot that night.
cd13- My first iui was done at noon! DH sperm was 8.6 total motile sperm. I believe they said they want it to be b/w 5-10. It didn't hurt at all! Everything went good. I did though ask the tech if there was enough sperm in the cup and embarrassed my poor DH. Geeze, there was nothing I wouldn't do to make this happen while still in the back of my head i had all the doubt in the world.
cd 24- = :( :(. I was silly to do this but I told myself that it will be ok (So I thought I did) Took at prego test that afternoon and BPN! I lost my s**t! I have to say that ranked top 3 meltdowns.
Cd 27- This day would make me 14 DPO but I didn't take a test. I was over it this month and decided I was going to wait till after the first of the year to even think about trying again after that meltdown I had.
Cd 28- I woke up, no period, no symptoms of nothing, and decided to use morning pee bc I didn't do that on that Tuesday. I got in the shower and didn't think nothing else about that test. 20 mins later is when I went and checked it, 2 Lines! BFP! I yelled for my dh to hurry in there. Our faces were in shocked. It was a cheepy test and my expensive test froze up and didn't work. I went and bought another one and another BFP!

Now that I am one week away from being in my second trimester I look back at what infertility done to me and how it tore my dh apart to. I wish couples didn't have to go through this. I still look at my bfp test that i have in a picture and think about how much i just needed to see that. People would tell me just stop pushing it so hard and it will happen., I dont believe that still to this day. I feel like God knew when it was going to be our turn but I needed to meet certain people ( fertility clinic) to get us where we are today. Its going to happen for you like it finally has for us! Baby dust!

Natural IUI

Hey ladies! As most of us say, this website helped us during the lengthy two week wait so I wanted to post my symptoms. We've done one other IUI that didn't work and this was the second one - confirmed BFP this morning! You have no idea how excited we are!! Baby dust to you all!

We managed to find a midwife to come to our home and do the insemination. The whole timing thing was exhausting. SO MANY negative OPK's. Then finally a smiley face! I am convinced the first IUI did not take because we did it about 24hrs after the positive OPK instead of the recommended 36hrs. So second round we did the 36hrs and I laid in bed for 90 minutes.

1-7 DPO: Not much symptoms except after the IUI I am usually sore in my lower pelvic area. Just like a bruise but on the inside of your body.
7 DPO: I'd say I definitely started to have the PMS symptoms - very tender and sore breasts (mostly on the outer sides), moody.
8-9 DPO: Same PMS symptoms wet CM but not much for color, etc. Had a couple hot flashes. Very tender and sore breasts. Decided to take a test even though I felt it was too early.. sure enough BFN (ClearBlue Digital)
10 DPO: A slight cramping or heaviness started early AM and most of the day at work. Also a pulling/twinge filling on the lower right side. Kept running to the bathroom to see if there was blood but nothing! AF is due any time so thought for sure she was coming. Took another pregnancy test after work and tried EPT this time to see if the lines would give me some hope... it was very very faint but I swear it was a positive. Still a slight cramping or heaviness all the way till bed time. Very tender and sore breasts.
11 DPO: Woke up at 1AM STARVING which never happens (I even had a big meal before bed) and I was have some cramping still and was gassy (could have been the beans at dinner though). Had a hard time sleeping and all I could think about was how odd it was having the little cramping for 24hrs but no blood? That has never happened before with previous AF's so at 6AM I took another pregnancy test... it took maybe 10secs and it was BFP!!!! (Another ClearBlue Digital). All the times I took the ClearBlue it would take the full 3min to give me a BFN but this time it happened so fast there was definitely no coincidence!

I was reading about the cramping and it could definitely be implantation.. (no blood). Even getting PAP Smears would give me this heaviness/bruised feeling so I think I am just sensitive to the implantation. ALSO, I read that the placenta burrows into your uterus as well to provide the oxygen and blood supply to the baby so maybe that is starting? Not sure but either way... praying for a healthy baby to start off 2016!

I'm WHAT???? (36 with Endometriosis, be damned!)

(after trying for 5+ years, almost a full year with fertility doctor, and endometriosis pain from hell just about every month)
This was the one month I didn't chart all of my symptoms, because I was supposed to be doing IVF. While starting the IVF process of taking BCP to regulate, insurance decided to rescind their approval due to some policy changes. Frustrating to have to wait another month, to say the least, but once I got my period the IUI process began yet again.

There were 3x injections daily for a while again. I had a few good follicles over 19 in size, but since it was so similar to the last IUI cycle, I was careful not to get my hopes up. Ovidrel, 1st IUI next day, 2nd IUI day after... old hat.

My breasts were sore over a week before my period was due, but my PMS is ruthless so it didn't really stand out. I also got reflux and indigestion a bit but, again, this is not very unusual. Especially when it's cold outside (for some reason, it exacerbates my IBS).

I guess when I noticed that my already large breasts felt kind of "in the way" and bigger, I should have suspected something. I don't know if the extra twinges I felt in my abdomen were a sign, or just more IBS stuff either.

But today, I had my blood test. I got the call from my doctor's office at 2:42pm saying, "Congratulations! We're all so happy for you! And your numbers look really good. They're 182. We just need you to come back in on Friday for the repeat..."

I had no clue what to say, and I was right in the middle of work. I just blurted out "I don't even know how to react right now. I'm probably going to sneak into the bathroom to cry" which was met with giggles. Those nurses knew how frustrating this all was.

Sure enough, I did just that right before I called my husband. We're excited and nervous at the same time. Cross your fingers that my numbers jump up by Friday!!!

(And to anyone reading this and thinking "will that ever be me?", I send positive vibes that 2016 is your year too. I sure as hell didn't think it was going to happen!)

BFP 3rd IUI - Donor Sperm

As most of us do I stalked this site the last 6 months looking for a glimmer of hope or a match to any of my symptoms during the 2ww praying for a positive pregnancy. This month on Jan 15th I finally got my BFP! Here is a little background on our situation:
I am 33, my husband is 37 and a diabetic who wears an insulin pump. We tried on our own for a couple years and finally this past June decided it wasn't working (and I wasn't getting any younger!) so we sought the help of a fertility specialist. After going through all the rounds of testing we got the news that my husband's SA came back with 14,000 sperm (yes 14K not 14million!) and of those there was only 8% motility. We were dead in the water, both physically and emotionally. Our fertility specialist informed us our only chances at a child would be IVF with my husband sperm OR IUI with donor sperm. At first he was adamantly against the idea of a donor so we opted for him to take Clomid to increase his counts. Two months passed and when it was time for him to do another SA he decided he didn't want to risk the chance of possibly passing on the diabetes, as his father and grandmother both had it as well. He didn't want to put our future child through the trauma of dealing with the disease that he feels robs him of so many luxuries in life, including carbs! It was an extremely selfless decision on his part and we worked through the scenario weekly with each other- some days talking, other days yelling and fighting, until we both came around to the idea. Once we were on the same page and as our last step we went to a counselor to gain the sign off needed to begin the process through our fertility doctor.
Finally we were back on track to having a child! After doing all the research we picked our donor and had our 1st IUI in October- (Femara cd 3-7) 2ww - BFN! November came and using the CB Digital opk we missed our ovulation, I was devastated, but we told ourselves we must have missed it for a reason. December -IUI #2 (Femara again cd 3-7)- This round I tracked all my symptoms. I had the cramping, nausea after day 10, fatigue, aching breasts, diarrhea, and bloating. I was positive during this 2ww that I was pregnant. Day 14 - BFN! Seriously?! Ugh! AF didn't start till Day 19, what a tease. (Btw the day we got our BFN we found out my Father in law needed a quadruple bypass and 3 days later my husband was hospitalized for an infection - we all spent the week of Christmas in the hospital, FUN!!)
Which brings us to Christmas Day(cd3), we were out of the hospital and went out of town. That evening we realized I had forgotten my Femara at home and would need to drive back the next morning so I could begin taking it a day late. At this point I just want 2015 to be over! (Femara cd 4-8), New Years Eve, yay a new year!! New Years Day- LH surge - IUI #3 scheduled for Jan 2nd (thank GOD this happened in 2016!) I decided this round I wasn't going to track anything and get my hopes up again. I did notice low back pain the night of Day 10 into Day 11 but with no spotting. I did my best to ignore it, which wasn't hard since by day 11/12 I was fully cramping and sure AF was coming in a couple days. No other symptoms AT ALL, no sore boobs, no bloating, no cm, and instead of feeling fatigued I felt like I was jittery when I would wake up. Day 13- My husband has left for work and sent me a text to ask if I had tested yet (I knew he had forgotten it was a day early and we shouldn't test until the following day, but at this point I just wanted to get it over with and have a glass of wine). I test with FMU expecting nothing and glance over as I'm flushing, what?!!? OMG I swear there is the faintest of faint lines...barely! I send the pic to my husband and he can't see it, he says to wait and we will test again tomorrow.... Tomorrow? That ship has sailed, I'm on my way to the store for a ClearBlue digi! Test with CB - BFN, I'm depressed, but still hopeful with my faint faint lined Early Response knockoff. I call the doc, admit I cheated a day early, and go for the blood test... Hcg- 17, Progesterone - 40. Yay I'm just barely pregnant on Day 13!! :D (btw I tested again with CB digital on Day 15 and still got BFN so I no longer trust CB since they failed me on OPK as well)
Here were my numbers:
Day 13- Hcg 17, Progesterone 40
Day 16- Hcg 203, Progesterone 43
Day 23- Hcg 2970, Progesterone 37

Still praying daily for a sticky baby! This site really helped keep me positive during those dreaded 2ww's. I thank everyone who contributes to this site and pray for all the women who read daily as I did, Baby Dust to ALL!!

For all of us TTC who have been told "just relax!"

This post is dedicated to all of us who have wanted to punch someone in the face when they told us to "just relax" and we would get pregnant.

I literally had everything go wrong, had a super stressful month, and got my BFP.

My hubby and I have been trying since 2011. That's five long years if you are counting at home. Two years of trying (my hubby travels a lot for work, we gave it extra time), an unexplained infertility diagnosis, two more years of "not trying" and "just relaxing" and three medicated IUI's. Our first IUI resulted in a chemical pregnancy. I was so traumatized that I waited a year before trying one again. Our second IUI I got massages, took things easy, went to see a Chiropractor, and did yoga daily. BFN.

This last month on the day I was supposed to go into my RE's for my day three ultrasound I felt like I had been runover by a truck. Was this allergies or a cold? MY RE told me to come in anyway. I live in Central Texas and have been braving a bout of Cedar Fever (think a Cold that lasts for several weeks until Cedar Pollen levels go down). I lost my voice, had fatigue, coughing, phlegm, you name it. To make things better, in 11 years of being a real estate agent, I had my busiest January EVER. I was working 7 days a week, handling lots of clients, and FLIPPING STRESSED. Between the work, fertility drugs, and cedar fever alone I became very unpleasant for my hubby to be around.

THEN, my husband gets a call about an entire work project being shutdown. This results in him leaving his job and starting a new business just about a year ahead of schedule and one week before our IUI. I'm covering as much as I can with my job, I feel like crap, and now the breadwinner of our family has just started a brand new business. Awesome. We were so busy and I was just trying to SURVIVE. I didn't even have much time to worry about our fertility treatment this month. I was the girl in her RE's office working on my laptop before my appointment. After our IUI, I ate lunch and was back to work with meeting clients immediately. I didn't really have a choice.

I was on Clomid, Gonal-F, and had a trigger shot. This was the first time we used a fresh sample for hubby and his counts were lower than they had been in the past. I don't remember motility, but his counts were about 13 million. I had two follicles mature and a small one that was a maybe.

I had no symptoms that were different from my normal cycle until last week. With our chemical pregnancy I noticed a few days before our BFP, I would wake up every night between 1-3 AM. I started doing this again. However, when I get stressed and busy with my job I tend not to sleep very well. I wasn't sure if I wasn't sleeping due to stress or hormones. I also noticed no spotting. I typically can spot anywhere from 3-7 days before my period starts. Even when I had my chemical. To this day (15DPIUI) I have had no spotting whatsoever, except for right after our IUI. I did have some cramping on and off during the 2WW which isn't abnormal for me. Part of the problem with being on fertility drugs is that you don't know what is the drugs and what are early pregnancy symptoms. I finally broke down and tested 12DPIUI because my boobs were hurting more than normal (but they normally are full and achy at this point in my cycle). To my surprise, it was a BFP. I had my betas today and it came back at 156. We go back for more blood tests on Wednesday to see if numbers are rising. I'm cautiously optimistic. We've never gotten this far before!!

So yeah, you can be stressed as hell and still get a BFP.

I had to share my news since I was always scrolling through these stories looking for hope! After 16 months of TTC and 1 failed IUI. I just got my first ever BFP from my 2nd IUI with Letrozole.

This was my first month since we started trying to conceive that I stopped basal temping after confirming ovulation. It really helped me to not over analyze everything! I didn't even Google IUI stuff this time around! And it really helped take the stress off.

Anyways, on 14dpiui I woke up with a couple bright pink spots when I wiped and thought FOR SURE I was getting my period so I cried and cried. Then I had a little brown spotting throughout the day but my full on period never came! I thought for sure I'd wake up the next morning with cramps and the whole shabang but nothing but a tiny tiny amount of brown discharge. I really didn't want to take a test though because I was so afraid and really thought my period was coming! But yesterday morning, 16dpiui, when I woke up with still no period, I took my first test and got my BFP! I couldn't believe it! And today is my birthday! So it was a great early birthday present! I went in for blood work today so I'm hoping everything looks good and it sticks!

For those of you who have been trying for what seems like an eternity, don't lose hope. It will happen!

I promised Myself I would come back and post when I got my BFP - we had an IUI due to unknown issues and during procedure found my cervix was tilted which I am thinking was part of issues getting Prego/ the swimmers had a bigger challenge than most. We used clomid and then a trigger shot.

I had ZERO symptoms. I say this bc month after month I would symptom spot and was always disappointed. I did not have EWCM this month, in fact I had a tiny amount of discharge daily after procedure which I assumed was from meds- just barely enough to notice it. I didn't have sore boobs, I wasn't crazy emotional- I didn't feel sick; maybe just a little tired but I was also busy so I didn't think anything of it.

So here is to hoping for a successful pregnancy and a healthy baby

Positive doing our 5th iui!

I actually have a bfp story of my own finally! My wife and I have been trying since July to get pregnant by iui. We are both 25 and mutually agreed that I would go first in trying to get pregnant because she has rheumatoid arthritis so she would have to be off her medication for at least a year and then not get to take anything for her pain while pregnant. We have gone through 5 iui's- the first was natural, second was a miscarriage with letrizole only, third only took letrizole but no luck, fourth time I got put on letrizole and menopur (made me produce a lot of follicles but still went along with it) and the fifth time I was on letrizole and Follistim. I had 2 follicles (18mm and 19mm). We also had the same donor through the whole process. Each time we tried again we tried to do something different. When we started our fifth cycle we decided if this didn't work then we were going to take a break and try Ivf because the dr recommended it. With this cycle I tried to be as relaxed as possible to not even think about maybe I am or am not pregnant. I had a few glasses of wine at our date night with friends at my favorite steak house. I had read about women eating pineapple cores for 6 days or so to help with implantation. I decided to give it a try even though my wife thought I was crazy, but eventually she got crazy too making sure I had pineapple sliced and ready for me. I ate it for the whole two week wait just because I love pineapple. I also started taking different vitamins before this cycle. I was always on prenatal vitamins but our good friend told us about ID life and the vitamins being super pure with no fillers like some you buy at the store, plus less than half the price than my prenatals the dr prescribed me, and that some of his friends that had been trying for years to conceive got pregnant after starting ID life. So I was like I'll give it a try. I took a health assessment which does ask if your trying to conceive and about your diet and health in general. Then I had our friend who is a dr look over and make sure I was taking everything needed while trying to conceive.
I had to take two trigger shots again this round. The first was before our iui the second was 6 days after to help with implantation. So basically that meant I could take a home pregnancy test. Ugh it was killin me. But I couldn't resist and I wanted to watch myself test out. So at 11 dpiui I started with my cheapies. I got a super faint line. So we continued for another day and noticed the line get darker. We decided to go buy better one and I'm glad we did because we got to watch the line get darker everyday. It was a great feeling but we still were nervous because this happened with our miscarriage.
So after our two week wait was up which always feels like forever we went to the dr which was on 16 dpiui because of my work schedule I couldn't go when the dr wanted which was only one day sooner. We waited for our phone call at the hospital visiting my cousins baby. Man did baby fever get super crazy when holding a newborn. We were on our way home and they called and said congratulations your pregnant! Your Hcg is 462 and progesterone was 80. They said come back in 3 days and we think you'll be above 1,000. Well today was our blood work again and my Hcg was 1235. Yay! We got to schedule our first ultrasound:))) the only symptom I have had so far has been heartburn and I didn't have any implantation spotting just some small random cramps that lasted like 3 seconds.
It's a rough journey but it's so worth it to keep going. I lived on this site for the past 8 months and it really helped to read other women's stories about trying to conceive.
